The welcome screen of the application allows you to choose among 3 functions "Set anchor alarm", "Set thieves alarm" or "Regatta" and also to choose your language(French/English/Italian).

The activation of "Preferences" menu shows the following screen. The button Configuration allows to choose the language of the software. The button Help gives you a basic help and a link towards this site. The button Information gives you version number of the software.

How to reach the button of menu "Preferences". Click this link to have a precise help on this variable point according to telephones.

To select the anchor watching function, click the button " Set anchor alarm". The following screen appears.

To watch the good behaviour of the anchoring define the beam distance in meters of line of anchorage, then click the button " Start watching of position ".

For example, set the system when you sleep at night or for a nap, if you are afraid for the behaviour of the anchoring.

The initial position is memorized after 30 seconds and appears on the screen. If the GPS of the phone is not enabled, a dialogbox will propose to you to activate it. Then the current position displays (every minute) and the distance between these two positions is computed in real time, then displays on the graph "wind rose" at the bottom of the screen (under shape textual and graphic). The center of the circle of this graph corresponds to the position of your anchor, and the last 10 mesured positions are shown as one goes along, connected by a line. The last position is the one represented by a small white circle.

If you slip of more than 2 * the beam, a sound alert is emitted by the telephone and lasts as long as you stop it. The telephone also vibrates during this duration of alert. The sound of the alarm is played the maximal volume (to wake up you), independently of the volume "media" settled in your telephone.
The " Difference of position " is then shown in red and the circle corresponding to the beam of alert appears in dotted lines red on the graph.

To stop the surveillance click the button " Stop watching of position " or click the button " Stop watching and return to welcome screen ".

To return to the welcome screen, click the button " Stop watching and return to welcome screen ".

To select the thieves watching function, click the button "Set thieves alarm". The following screen appears.

To watch if your boat at anchor, without anybody on board, is not being stolen, define the distance max in meters of the movement to watch.

Also define 1 or 2 telephone numbers to be notified. Then click the button " Start watching of position ".
The initial position is memorized after 30 seconds and appears on the screen. The current position also displays and the distance between these two positions is computed in real time then displays in the field "Delta of location". This distance is the one as the crow flies between the initial position of your boat and the current position . She can thus decrease if the thief returns towards the original position.

If your boat moves of more defined distance, a SMS with the hour and the position is sent to the delivery telephone(s) every minute to the case the movement continues. The "Delta of location" is also shown in red ".

SMS include the hour and the GPS location (latitude / longitude) of your boat in real time.
NB:SMS are sent only if your telephone is connected to a phone operator (phone subscription active and effective connection with an antenna relay).
SMS can be read by a person or decoded on a map by the software MarineSecurityMap for Android.


You also can decide to activate the detection of vibrations on the boat besides the detection of movement by the telephone by checking the box " Activate vibration detection " at the bottom of the screen.
The regulation of the sensibility of detection is made by calling the menu "Preferences", then choosing one of the 3 available levels.


This function is useful only to watch a boat stored on a support or on a trailer ashore. Indeed the movements of the boat at sea are enough to activate the alarm by detection of the vibrations. We shall thus reserve this mode of detection to watch a theft of outboard motor without movement of the boat stored in a park ashore.

When you activate this function for the surveillance, this one engages with a delay of 1 mn allowing you to tidy up the telephone in a safe place and allowing you to disembark before surveillance, to avoid starting yourself the alarm.

Regarding the position of the GPS monitoring frequency, theft function has a specific setting for decreasing the frequency of measurement, less use of electricity and therefore have more autonomy on the phone.
The adjustment is made by calling the menu "Preferences" and then choosing one of the 4 levels available.

The default setting activated is 5 minutes. That is, after the acquisition of initial position, every 5 minutes, the phone's GPS will be asked to find out if the phone was moved or not.
You can choose a value 2/5/10/20 minutes for this measurement frequency. With a measurement every 20 minutes, autonomy on a small phone like the Samsung Galaxy Y set on 2G mode is 3 to 4 days.

On both screens below, the theft surveillance is active and the initial location (reference location) has been memorized. If the boat is moved, the current location updates and distance between the initial position and the current is computed and shown in red if it exceeds the parametrized alert.

When the theft surveillance is active, the telephone activates automatically 2 functions of monitoring which will inform you by SMS:
1-The battery tension is watched every hour and if it falls below 75 %, 50 % and 30 % you will receive a SMS message on telephones receiving the alerts.
2-Once a week , you will receive a "Watchdog" message indicating you that the software of surveillance is always on and operational. It is a way a life signal from your monitoring system.

To stop the watching click the button " Stop watching of position".
To return to the welcome screen, click the button " Stop watching and return to the main screen " which is at the bottom of the screen.

To reach the function of follow-up regatta, click the button "Regatta". The following screen appears.


In regatta mode, your telephone is going to watch your location and to send all the changes by SMS towards a telephone Android installed in PC race which will receive and will decode these positions thanks to MarineSecurityMap. MarineSecurityMap is thus essential to the PC Course to insure this function of real time display on a GoogleMap.

Before launching the transmit, define with the drop-down list the distance between successive positions which will activate the sending of a SMS towards the PC Course, and define one or 2 telephone numbers which will receive the messages of position and will show them via MarineSecurityMap.

Click the button " Start transmit of location " to start the follow-up of regatta.



Once acquired the current location, this one displays and a SMS of initial position is transmitted.

Then, all the minutes or when the distance between positions is superior to the parametrized instruction, a SMS of location will be again transmitted with the updated traveled distance.

This distance contrary to the theft surveillance is not the distance as the crow flies between the initial location and the current, but the accumulation of all the movements, thus the distance traveled the boat in regatta .

To stop the transmission click the button " Stop transmit ".
To return to the welcome screen, click the button " Stop transmitting and return to the main screen ".


Important:

• The precision of the measure depends on the good quality of GPS reception. It is thus necessary to position your telephone Android in a place or it's possible to receive the GPS signals correctly, for example at the level of the cockpit because the GPS signals cross the glass or the Plexiglas. The precision of a GPS is generally about 10 to 20 meters. If the GPS reception is not effective, MarineSecurity cannot work and warn you.
• If you have to use the software during several hours or days, connect your telephone on a 12 V supply of your boat.
• The display of the current location and the difference of location allow to verify the good running of the GPS acquisition during the movements of the boat (> in 10 m).
